Position: Senior High Youth Associate (who will focus on the women in our ministry - teens, their moms, youth staff) Reston Bible Church is actively pursuing Gods leading for the position of Youth Associate in the Senior High Youth Ministry. RBC is a church located in northern Virginia that started as a Bible Study in 1974 and has now grown to a church of approximately 2,000. From the beginning, the church has had a commitment to the growth and development of its ministry to youth. We have been blessed with very gifted women in this role and are trusting God to lead us to His choice as we continue to move forward. This position involves working alongside of the Senior High Youth Pastor in doing the following: (a) developing the strategy of the youth ministry in shepherding our teens to maturity in their walk and witness, (b) shepherding the female teens, women staff, and mothers of our teens, (c) teaching and discerning how to best meet their needs, (d) administrating aspects of the youth ministry necessary to carry out the mission of the youth ministry. We are exploring two different models to fill this position. The first model would be for a 2 year intern model for those who are just out of school and who have a foundational amount of youth ministry experience that they want to build upon. The second model would be for someone who has a significant amount of training and experience within youth ministry and feels a long term calling to ministry with teenage girls. Part time youth leader to work with church youth on a weekly basis – currently Sunday afternoons, but we may change to Thursdays from 5 – 7 PM. We need a self-starter who is willing to work with pastor & other staff in ministry to our youth. We also have a program called JIFF for neighborhood children that meets on Thursdays & there is excellent opportunity for overlapping ministry. There is a chance that a small weekly salary can be arranged. To meet with the youth (United Methodist Youth or UMY) on a weekly basis during the school year. We’d like to have a balance between Christian development, Biblical knowledge and fun activities. We have a church van available for outside activities. We also hope that the ideal leader can attract more youth to the program and to the church. Religion or Biblical Studies are recommended, but not required.
